Iron Blue Bloke 7’ #4

This is a cracking wee rod. I bought a range of these blanks when Mike Bell (Bloke Rods) first brought them out a few years back. This is me just getting around to doing something with them. Mike says this range of hollow fibreglass blanks were ‘designed to replicate the action of a Payne 101 taper as closely as possible which is arguably the best cane blank ever made.’  I would say he’s not far off with that. The actions are middle to tip and truly parabolic but not floppy. You can feel the action in the grip, but there is power there that you can push into. I’ve dressed it with grey Japanese silk and a turn of red, producing a nice iron blue transparent guide wrap, making reference to the early session Iron Blue Dun fly.
This rod does not come with a rod tube and will be sent in a protective tube for posting.
